A little bit about Philip Thomas Vanderford & Jason James Jones of Studio Thomas James
Philip Thomas Vanderford & Jason James Jones run a full-scale boutique style interior design firm. They take a strictly hands-on approach and personally execute every step of the design process.
They thrive on working with a variety of periods and styles to create spaces that are unique to each client they serve. They enjoy walking with a client through the design process to create spaces that are stylish, functional, timeless, & most of all reflect the ideals and desires of each individual they assist.
What is your favorite classic with a twist? Can be anything, interior design related, food, drinks, architecture?
One of our favorite ways to put a spin on a classic design is incorporating more modern elements. We mix traditional textiles, wallcoverings, and accessories with mid-century or contemporary furniture. It makes for a balanced space that doesn’t grow old quickly.
How did you find out about Dowel Furniture?
We’d seen Dowel Furniture in projects we admire and immediately knew we’d source for our clients. The collections can be specified especially for our design needs, and we love working with companies with such a long-standing history in the industry. Each of Dowel’s pieces is unique and has personality.
Which pieces did you choose for your projects and why did you choose those pieces for your clients?
Hudson Bar Cart
Our clients love to entertain, and the Hudson Bar Cart was perfect for the space. It’s sophisticated with a touch of glamour. The bonus is it’s on casters, so it can easily be moved around when setting up to host a party!
Grant Lounge Chair
The master suite is a retreat for our clients. We wanted them to have a place to sit and relax after a long day or spend a quiet moment before the day gets started. The Grand Lounge Chairs were the perfect size for the space (we wish you could see the back detail!); they are beautifully-made chairs.
Getz Side Table
Living rooms need to work for everyday living and hosting family and friends. Including the perfect Getz side table adds another design element while a place to place a cup of tea or cocktail. The warm wood and metal accents make it shine.
